Stockton, CA - Goaltender Peter Budaj made 39 saves and forward Jonny Brodzinski scored twice to propel the Ontario Reign (17-5-2-1) over the Stockton Heat (9-14-0-2) 2-1 at Stockton Arena Tuesday evening.

Brodzinski broke the scoreless tie midway through the second period knocking a rebound past the right pad of Heat netminder Joni Ortio (L, 42 saves on 44 shots) at 9:55. Forward Andrew Crescenzi picked up the lone assist. Moments later, the Reign dumped the puck behind the net, Ortio mishandled the feed and gave it right to Brodzinski for the easy unassisted empty-net marker at 16:22.

Heat forward Bryce Van Brabant pulled the game within one with a wraparound goal 2:16 into the third period, but Budaj would follow up with 16 saves in the final frame to seal the victory. The Reign finished the game 0-for-2 on the power play while the Heat went 0-for-3.
