
Syracuse Crunch Release Luke Pither from PTO

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have released forward Luke Pither from his professional try-out contract, general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
Pither, 26, appeared in one contest with the Crunch after being signed to a PTO on Dec. 26. This season, Pither has also appeared in 16 games with the Brampton Beast of the ECHL, where he has notched eight goals and five assists along with 14 penalty minutes, and six contests with the St. John's IceCaps, posting three assists.
During the 2014-15 season, the Burketon, Ontario native played for Klagenfurt AC in the Austria League, collecting 25 points (11g, 14a) in 48 games. Pither has skated in a career total 136 AHL games with Syracuse, St. John's, Charlotte and Adirondack, tallying 51 points (17g, 34a) and 63 penalty minutes.
Prior to his professional career, Pither spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, earning 250 points (104g, 146a), 157 penalty minutes and a plus-62 rating in 307 contests with Barrie, Belleville, Guelph and Kingston. During the 2009-10 season, Pither was named to the OHL Third All-Star Team.
