IceCaps Drop 3-2 Shootout Decision to Americans

BUFFALO, NY -Gabriel Dumont scored shorthanded and Charles Hudon sniped a powerplay marker but the St. John's IceCaps were shaded 3-2 by the Rochester Americans in a shootout Wednesday night at First Niagra Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

The IceCaps trailed 1-0 after the first period but Dumont tied the game just 22 seconds into the middle frame with the IceCaps on the penalty kill. Rochester regained the lead just a minute and 20 seconds later before Hudon squared the contest at two with a man advantage at 16:31 of the second. The third period and overtime yielded no further scoring. Cal O'Reilly scored the winner in the shootout as Rochester outscored St. John's 3-1 in the breakaway contest.
