Islanders Reassign Burroughs to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that defenseman Kyle Burroughs has been reassigned by the New York Islanders from the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL) to the Sound Tigers. The team also announced that defenseman Loic Leduc has been reassigned by the Islanders from the Sound Tigers to Missouri.

Burroughs, 20, has appeared in 18 games with the Mavericks this season, recording one goal and four assists along with 17 penalty minutes. A native of Langley, B.C., Burroughs played nine games with the Sound Tigers in 2013-14. The 5-foot-11 defenseman signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Islanders on April 8, 2015. The Islanders selected Burroughs in the seventh round (196th overall) of the 2013 National Hockey League Draft.

Leduc, 21, has played in six games for the Sound Tigers this season, making his American Hockey League debut on October 18 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The 6-foot-7 defenseman has also played five games in Missouri this season, registering one goal.
