The Bucks improved to 4-0 against the Killer Bees this season with a 5-0 shutout win Tuesday night at the LEC. Andrew Desjardins picked up two special teams goals in the win over Rio, one on the power-play, and one shorthanded, with Jeff Bes and Rane Carnegie handing out two assists.
Bes (14-20-34) is first in the CHL in scoring (34 points), and goals scored (14), while Chris Korchinski (9-15-24) is eighth in the league in scoring with 24 points. Captain Serge Dube (5-13=18) is tied for the top spot in the league in defenseman scoring with 18 points.
Rio comes into tonight 13 points behind Laredo in the Southeast Division, having won four of their last six games, and three straight at home. In the loss to the Bucks Tuesday night David Lemanowicz made 33 saves in net.
The Bees are led in scoring by Dennis Maxwell (7-13=20), with Travis Banga (5-12=17) and Rob Voltera (8-9=17) each picking up 17 points on the season.
After tonight the Bucks and Bees will meet eight more times, three in Laredo and five in Hidalgo.
