Youngstown Remains on top of CHL Coaches Poll
November 30, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
The Youngstown SteelHounds retained the top spot in the CHL Coaches Poll with their 13-2-1 record and 27 points. The Hounds finished with 149 points, four more than the #2 team, the Rocky Mountain Rage. The Rage are the hottest team in the league winning seven straight games moving from #3 to #2. Laredo, the #1 team in the first CHL Coaches Poll, has dropped a spot in each of the first three polls and currently sits at #3. The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees moved back into the top 10, replacing the New Mexico Scorpions, after being absent in the last released poll. No team moved up or down more than one spot in the top 10.
Voting for the CHL Coaches Poll is done by the 17 CHL Head Coaches. The SteelHounds received nine of the 17 first place votes (teams cannot vote for themselves). Rocky Mountain received six first place votes and Laredo received the other two first place votes.
The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released at the beginning and the middle of each month through the season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place earns nine points, etc.
