The Waterloo Bucks (2-5) dropped a 8-6 decision to the Rochester Honkers (5-2) despite a 5 run third.

Skyler Messinger (1-3, R, RBI) drove in Deion Thompson (2-5, R, 2B) after the latter doubled and moved to third on a Greg Anderberg (2-5) groundout, then Trey Leonard (2-4, R, 2 2B) hit the first of his 2 doubles. Kevin Welsh (1-1, R, 2 RBI, 3 BB) singled them both in, then Ryan Gonzalez (2-5, RR, 2B, 2 RBI) doubled in Welsh. After a Drue Galassi walk, Jake Means (2-4, 2B, RBI) belted an RBI double to score Gonzalez for the inning's fifth run.

Rochester scored 7 unanswered over the next three innings, and the Honkers bullpen shut down the Bucks in the later frames.

Waterloo wraps up the 2 game set with Rochester on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m.
