KENOSHA, Wis. - The Kenosha Kingfish (4-3) retook their lead in the 2020 Kenosha Series with a 7-2 win over the K-Town Bobbers (3-4) on Friday night at Simmons Field.

K-Town started the scoring in the bottom of the first on a Justice Bigbie (Western Carolina) RBI fielder's choice that scored Brett Harris (Gonzaga). Harris got on base with his team leading 14th hit.

After being held hitless on 3.0 perfect innings and six strikeouts by Bobbers starting pitcher Kohl Simas (San Diego State), the Kingfish exploded with six runs in the top of the 4th inning off reliever Andy Neu (UW-Milwaukee). Justin Janas (Illinois) started the scoring by driving in two runs on a single to give Kenosha their first lead at 2-1. George Rosales (Fairleigh Dickinson University) added to Kenosha's lead with an RBI single to right field and Mitchell Buban (UW-Milwaukee) capped off the scoring by clearing the bases with a 3 run homer run to left field to give the Kingfish a 6-1 lead.

Kenosha extended their lead 7-1 in the 5th inning when Kai Murphy (Arizona State) led off the inning with a double and scored on an error by Bobbers shortstop Nick Gonzalez (USF) in the next at-bat.

K-Town responded with one run in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Harris to trail 7-2.

Aided by four double plays from the Kingfish defense, starting pitcher Brock Weirather (Grinnell College) got the win pitching 5.0 innings and allowing one run on four hits and striking out two.

Neu took the loss for K-Town pitching 0.1 innings in relief and allowing six runs, five earned, on four hits and two walks.
