Hershey Bears News Release

The BEARS continue to thrive away from Giant Center, winning their third straight game on the road, 4-1 against the Albany River Rats. Steve Brule, Albany's all-time leader in goals, assists, points, and games played, continued his scoring touch at the Pepsi Arena, fueling the BEARS victory by scoring two goals. Peter Budaj (6-4-2-1) wins his sixth game of the season, stopping 26 of 27 River Rat shots.

HERSHEY scored two goals in the first 6:54 of the first period. Brule got things started with his sixth goal of the season at 4:17, assisted by Gavin Morgan and Jeff Finger. Shane Willis followed by scoring his team-leading eighth goal at the 6:54 mark on a great feed from Eric Perrin. The BEARS and River Rats would skate through a scoreless second period. Mark Jerant and Rob Skrlac would square off in the game's only fight.

The third period would see more magic by the line of Brule, Morgan and Jordan Krestanovich. Brule would score his second goal of the game at 4:38. Morgan would get his second point of the game and Krestanovich was credited with the additional assist. Marc Busenberg would end the scoring with an empty net goal, 59 seconds remaining in the game. The BEARS continue the best road record in the league at 7-1-1-0. They stay atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 10-3-2-2, good for 24 points.

HERSHEY concludes their four game road trip in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday night against the Penguins. Catch the road warriors on BIG 92.7 where John Walton describes all of the action. The pre-game show begins at 6:40 pm.
