Columbus Recalls Defenseman Anders Eriksson

Syracuse, NY (November 19, 2003) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Anders Eriksson.

Eriksson, 28, has appeared in nine games with Syracuse this season recording one goal, three assists and 12 penalty minutes. In four games with Columbus this season, Eriksson did not record a point.

A member of the 1997-98 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, Eriksson has played in 346 NHL games with Detroit, Chicago, Florida, Toronto and Columbus, tallying 14 goals, 89 assists and 140 penalty minutes. In 228 career AHL games with Adirondack, St. John's and Syracuse, Eriksson has tallied 19 goals, 104 assists and 259 penalty minutes. Originally Detroit's first choice, 22nd overall, in the 1993 Entry Draft, Eriksson was signed by Columbus as a free agent on October 10 after attending their training camp. He is the 13th first-round draft pick to appear with the Crunch.

The Crunch host Rochester on Friday, November 21 for CrazyGrazer.com Night at the Crunch. Friday is also Taco Bell Night at the Crunch. Discounted coupons will be available at area Taco Bell locations. Cleveland visits the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, November 22 for Quickway Night at the Crunch.
