IceCats Help Raise Thousands

Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA – On Monday, November 17th in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Worcester, the Worcester IceCats held their second annual "Tip A ‘Cat for Education" celebrity waiter event at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Worcester. The three-hour fundraising event raised just under $24,000 for the Kiwanis Club's Scholarship Fund, the Union Hill School and the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.

Patrons had the opportunity to mingle with IceCats players as they donned aprons instead of jerseys and became waiters for the evening. The evening also included a live and silent auction featuring items from the IceCats, St. Louis Blues and other memorabilia from various sports teams, in addition to the numerous local business donations.

"We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of IceCats fans." said Kevin Cummings, IceCats Executive Vice President. "The success of this event would not be possible without the hard work of everyone involved, and most of all the financial support of the Worcester community".

In combination with last year's event, the IceCats and the Kiwanis Club of Worcester have now raised almost $50,000.

The IceCats return to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Lowell Lock Monsters on Wednesday, November 26th. Flex Pack ticket packages and Birthday Celebrations are on sale now at the IceCats offices, located at 105 Commercial Street in downtown Worcester. For more information, please contact an IceCats ticket representative at 1-800-830-CATS.
