
Bruins sign Phil Aucoin

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins announced today that they have signed right wing Phil Aucoin to a professional tryout contract. Phil, the younger brother of Bruin center Keith Aucoin, will make his AHL debut tonight when the team visits the Worcester IceCats at 7:05 p.m. Game coverage can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.
Aucoin, a 23-year-old native of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, is playing in his first professional season out of Norwich (VT) University. He spent this season with the Memphis Riverkings (CHL), finishing second on the team and 10th overall in the league with 25-48-73 totals and 83 PIM in 58 games. He led all CHL rookies in assists and points, and ranked third in goals. Aucoin's outstanding season was recognized in his selection to the CHL All-Rookie Team.
Aucoin posted 45-91-136 totals and 88 PIM in 110 career games at Norwich from 2000-04. He played with Keith at Norwich as a rookie, and played five games with him this season in Memphis before the latter signed with Providence on November 4.
