Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves lead the 28-team American Hockey League with an average of 9,054 fans per game entering their final regular-season home game tonight. If tonight's contest draws more than 9,100 fans, Chicago will top the league in attendance for the first time since joining the AHL and the second time in franchise history.

The largest crowd this season came on Nov. 20 against the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks when 16,308 fans packed the Allstate Arena. Coming into tonight's contest, the Wolves have drawn six crowds of more than 14,000 fans, which includes four over 15,000, marking the first time since the 1996-97 campaign that the team has accomplished that feat.

The Wolves, who led the International Hockey League in 2000-01 with an average of 8,329 fans per game, have increased their attendance by 13 percent from last season. Chicago has never finished a season lower than fourth in its league in attendance, which includes its four seasons in the AHL.
