PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves RHP Jake Brigham was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 25-31. During that week Brigham made one start, working eight shutout innings against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

In the pitcher's duel on May 29, Brigham gave up just three hits and struck out five as the M-Braves defeated the Blue Wahoos 1-0 at Trustmark Park. Brigham threw 87 pitches, 62 for strikes, while forcing 12 groundouts and only two flyouts in the game.

Brigham, 27, has a record of 4-2 with a 3.95 ERA in nine starts for the M-Braves this season. He was 3-0 with a 2.45 mark in five starts during the month of May. The right-hander was hit by a liner back to the mound on May 18 at Pensacola and was placed on the DL with a right shin contusion the next day. He was activated on May 27.

Brigham was signed by the Braves as a free agent on November 20, 2014.
