Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League today announced that defenseman, Brandon Fleenor, has been reassigned by the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League to the Storm. It is expected that Fleenor will join the Storm as early as today.

Fleenor, who turned 24 on September 26, is a fourth year pro who found his stride after an early season trade last year, ultimately putting up the best numbers of his pro career. The 6'2/210 pound defenseman scored three goals, added nine assists, and racked up 224 penalty minutes in 58 games with the playoff-bound Adirondack IceHawks of the United Hockey League. This marked the second consecutive season that Fleenor topped the two-hundred penalty minute plateau, as he also bagged 224 pims for the Tacoma Sabrecats of the West Coast Hockey League in 2000-01.

Regarding Fleenor, Storm Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel, Claude Noel, stated, "Brandon is a big, strong defenseman, which you certainly need on any club, but particularly so in the Toledo Sports Arena because you need that size and strength to control the confined space around the nets on the smaller ice surface. Brandon is one of those players who not only has the size, strength, and toughness required to be a substantial force in our building, but he also appears to have the skill level necessary to be a significant factor on our blueline."
