Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - In an electrifying evening, the Texas Brahmas were just too little too late as they fell to the Rocky Mountain Rage Saturday 4-3.

The game started in the Rage's favor as Daymen Rycroft slipped an unassisted goal pass Brahmas netminder David Cacciola at the 1:45 mark. If the first goal was any indicator on how the rest of the evening would go for Cacciola, things did not appear to be in the Brahmas' favor.

Four minutes later, the Rage struck again as Cullaton scored an unassisted shorthanded goal. Rage forward Scott Wray joined in on the offensive action as he scored his eleventh goal of the season. The period ended in the Rage's favor, 3-0.

The second was a haunting period as Rage center Rycroft snuck his second goal of the night past Brahmas starting goaltender. This led Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong to pull Cacciola in favor of backup goalie, Jim Healey. Before Healey could face any real action, plenty of action was on outside with the weather as the lights at the NYTEX Sports Centre went out within 47 seconds of play.

The temporary blackout may have fueled Texas as they came back out of the locker room with a new attitude. Ten penalties were issued in the remaining minutes of the second, including two fighting majors from Brahmas big hitters Chris Thompson and Chris Mann.

It was not until the third period when the Brahmas offense came alive as the newest Texas addition, forward Tyler Skworchinski scored his first goal of the season. He was set up by Robin Big Snake, who returned to the lineup after spending 14 days on the IR.

This led to an exciting second half of the period as Brahmas leading goal scorer Scott Sheppard added to his collection with a 5 on 3 power play goal from Justin Kinnunen and captain Blair Manning, putting the score 4-2. Eleven seconds later, Texas' forward Greg McConnell netted his seventh goal of the season to put the Brahmas within one.

In the end, the Brahmas were unable to finish their rally as their offense came too little, too late as they lost to Rocky Mountain 4-3.

The Brahmas will continue their longest homestand Friday, November 30 at the NYTEX Sports Centre as they face the Mississippi RiverKings for a 7:05 PM start. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or go to www.brahmas.com.
