LAREDO, TX- The Southern Conference leading Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will look to make it two wins in a row tonight as they host the New Mexico Scorpions at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Game time is set for 7:30pm.

The Bucks got back on the winning track last night with a 3-2 win over the Scorpions. Dustin Traylen stopped 40 of 42 New Mexico shots he faced in net, with Chris Korchinski, Jeff Bes, and rookie Andrew Desjardins talling goals for Laredo. Traylen is 3-0 against New Mexico this season. The Bucks have never lost to the Scorpions at home (6-0).
Tonight will mark the last of four regular season meetings between the Bucks and 'Scorps, with Laredo winning the previous three.
The Bucks (6-1 at home) have a firm lead in both the Southeast Division, and Southern Conference. Laredo is 11 points up on second place Rio Grande Valley in the division, and four points up over second place Arizona in the Southern Conference.
Bes (13-17=30) is second in the CHL in scoring with 30 points, one point behind Rocky Mountain's Scott Wray. Bes is tied for the league lead in goals scored with 13. Korcinski (9-12=21) is still tied for eighth in the league with 21 points.
New Mexico comes into tonight having lost the first two games of a four-game 'South Texas' road trip.
The Scorpions are led in scoring by Konrad Reeder (8-11=19) with 19 points. Reeder is 12th in the CHL in scoring, while Dominic Osman leads all CHL rookies with 10 goals.
Prior to the game tonight the Bucks will hold a pre-game tailgate party outside the LEC, courtesy of Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors. The event will start at 5:30pm, with food and beverages to be served.
In addition to having a live band performing, Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors will have seven-to-eight vehicles on display at the party, and will hold a raffle for fans to win a flat-screen, high definition TV to be given away during the first period of Saturday's game.
Toyota of Laredo and Powell Watson Motors will also be giving away free tickets to the game that night to some fans who attend the tail-gate party.
Also tonight is the Bucks entertainment event night, where a special, world famous entertainer will perform during the intermissions. For tickets call 718-BUCK (2825).

*With a power-play goal last night, the Bucks are now 2-40 in their last seven games with the man advantage. Laredo is 17-97 (17.5%) for the year on the power-play.
*The Bucks lead the CHL in all three offensive categories with 71 goals, 123 assists, and 194 points.
*When the Bucks are leading after two periods this season they are 9-0-1, conversely when they trail after two periods they are just 1-3.
*With their 3-2 win last night the Bucks improved their record in one-goal games to 4-2-1, including 2-0 against New Mexico.
*The Scorpions have scored a power-play goal in seven of their last eight games, including last night.
*The Scorpions lead the CHL with six shorthanded goals, the Bucks have five.
