Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 19)-Defense may win games, but tonight the Brahmas defensemen proved offense helps too as four Texas blueliners aided in the 4-2 victory over the Sundogs in Arizona.

The Sundogs started the scoring rally first in the opening period with a powerplay goal beating Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola for the 1-0 lead. Texas came back in the second period led by captain Craig Minard tying the game with an assist from defenseman Eric Lundberg. Minard then went on to assist Greg McConnell's fifth goal of the season, his second in as many games to give the Brahmas the 2-1 lead. Defenseman Mike Vellinga was credited an assist as well.

Following a Sundog goal late in the second, the Brahmas went up for good at the :28 in the final period with a goal from another defenseman, Kevin McLeod. Jordan Cameron and Minard set the goal up. Cameron ended the game with a goal of his own, his eighth of the season on a Texas powerplay.

Arizona netminder Joel Gistedt was peppered by 28 Texas shots in the game, nine coming in the third. The Brahmas went 2-for-9 with the man advantage.
