Bees Lose to Bucks 5-4

LAREDO, Texas --- Jeff Bes scored twice, including the game-winner in the third period, as the Laredo Bucks edged the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-4 Friday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Rio rebounded from a 2-0 deficit after the first on a pair Jesse Bennefield goals. Bennefield's first goal for the Bees marked the fourth game in a row he potted Rio's first tally of the game. His second came via the penalty shot, his second such goal against Laredo this season

Stephen Burns tipped home a shot at 5:38 of the second to give Rio a 3-2 lead, but Laredo's Alex Goupil tied things up with his 14th goal of the year at 13:31.

RGV took a 4-3 lead into the third period after Nic Dumoulin rifled Robin Bouchard's feed under the crossbar and past goalie Sebasitien Centomo from the right point with 1:04 remaining .

The Bucks responded with a pair of unassisted goals in the final stanza to take the victory. Adam Rivet sent a backhander off Chris Boucher's cacthing glove to knot things at 4 just 1:48 into the period. Bes bagged his second of the night at 8:56.

The Killer Bees (11-10-2) wrap up a 3-in-3 road trip Saturday night at Odessa. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
