(Corpus Christi, TX) - Kris Tebbs' was a star of the night with 31 saves, as the IceRays topped Odessa, 2-1, at the American Bank Center on Friday to end the Jackalopes win streak at 11.
Corpus Christi scored two first period goals from John Adams on the power play, and a shorthanded marker from Justin Quenneville to give Corpus a 2-0 lead which held up until the third period. Brian Swiniarski scored the Jackalopes only goal at 11:31 of the third on assists from Phil Plante and Ryan Palmer. It was Swiniarski's 12th of the year.
Dan McWhinney finished with 23 saves for the Jackalopes.
At 7:25 of the first period a brawl broke out between the two teams which saw Odessa's Russ Moyer and Marc Rechlicz given game misconducts. Corpus Christi's Jozef Sladok, Matt Smyth, and Mike Zbriger were also ejected for the game.
The Jackalopes return home to the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday night to host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:05 PM.
