(North Richland Hills, TX) -- The Texas Brahmas held off the MIssissippi RiverKings 4-2 Saturday, October 18th, as both teams evened their record a 1-1-0 for the first weekend of the Central Hockey League season.
Marc Belanger scored a pair of third period goals, including the game-winner at 15:05 of the final period, to go with an empty-netter with three-seconds remaining in the game.
Garrett Larson led the Mississippi offense with two goals. Both tallies tied the contest at 1-1, and 2-2 respectively, before Belanger's offensive output settled the contest.
Kevin Beech took the loss for the RiverKings with 31-save effort. Brett Jaeger won the game in goal for Texas with an 18 save performance.
The RiverKings host Bossier-Shreveport Tuesday night in their next game. Game time at the DeSoto Civic Center is 7:05 PM.
