
Brady Pitches Captains to Series Win

(Beloit, WI) -The Lake County Captains picked up their second straight series win with a 4-2 win over the Beloit Snappers on Monday night. The Captains finish their Wisconsin road trip by going 4-2. Sean Brady dazzled on Monday night as he picked up his fourth win by delivering six innings of three hit baseball.
The Captains wasted no time grabbing an early lead on Monday night. Greg Allen doubled on the first pitch of the game. Yu-Cheng Chang followed and was hit in the head by a pitch. Chang would have to exit. Claudio Bautista would then bounce into a fielder's choice, scoring Allen for a 1-0 lead. Bautista would also score on a throwing error by Snappers' third baseman Jose Brizuela. The throw also allowed Bobby Ison to move up a base. Ison then came around to score on David Armendariz's RBI double to push the Captains lead to 3-0.
Beloit would get on the board in the bottom of the third inning. Andy Paz started the inning with a single. Justin Higley would follow with a double to drive in Paz to cut the Captains lead to 3-1.
The Captains would add an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning. Ison would reach base on a fielder's choice and would advance to second on a wild pitch. Armendariz would then deliver again with an RBI single to score Ison from second.
Beloit would get one run in the top of the ninth inning off of Cameron Hill before he slammed the door shut to secure a 4-2 win.
Brady (4-3) went 6.0 innings and allowed just 3 hits. He allowed 1 run, earned, and walked 1 while striking out 5. David Speer followed with 2.0 innings of perfect relief. Speer struck out 2. Hill (4) earned the save with 1.0 inning of relief. He allowed 1 run, earned, on 1 hit. He walked 1 and struck out 1.
The Captains head back to Classic Park over the .500 mark with a 29-28 record. The team is still just 3.5 games out of the wild card with just under two weeks left in the first half.
The Captains will begin a six game home stand on Wednesday night when they welcome the Clinton Lumberkings to Classic Park. Lefty Anderson Polanco will get the start for the Captains. First pitch is at 7:00pm and the game can be heard on 1330AM WINT.
