Corpus Christi, TX - The Corpus Christi Hooks scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off 3-2 on the Arkansas Travelers on Saturday night at Whataburger Field.

With Arkansas up 2-0, RHP Danny Reynolds hit RF Teoscar Hernandez to start the ninth. After CF Andrew Aplin walked to put the tying run on base, both runners advanced to second and third on a wild pitch. DH Tyler White then hit a sacrifice fly to left to get the Hooks on the board and advanced Aplin to third. With Corpus Christi down 2-1 with one out, 3B Colin Moran walked. After Chan-Jong Moon came on to pinch run for Moran, SS Jio Mier was also hit by a pitch to load the bases and put the winning run at second. RHP Kurt Spomer was called from the bullpen, but 1B Congrad Gregor lined a game-winning two-run single to left.

Reynolds (L, 0-2) threw 17 pitches, 14 of which were out of the strike zone.

RHP Michael Brady worked a career-high five innings and struck out a career-high eight batters. Brady was making his sixth start in his 235th career appearance. The righty allowed three hits over five shutout frames, with a walk and the eight strikeouts.

RHP Alan Busenitz worked a 1-2-3 sixth and RHP Eduard Santos allowed just one hit over two scoreless innings to get the Travs to the ninth up 2-0. Brady, Busenitz and Santos retired 16-straight Hooks at one point.

Arkansas scored both of its runs in the third inning. C Zach Wright and 3B Drew Maggi hit back-to-back doubles to start the third and put the Travs on the board. After an SS Eric Stamets single that advanced Maggi to third, Stamets was picked off of first trying to steal second. Despite Stamets being tagged out at second on the play, Maggi came down to score.

RF Cal Towey recorded his eighth outfield assist when he threw out 2B Tony Kemp trying to stretch a single to a double in the eighth.

The Travs entered Saturday's game 20-0 when taking a lead to the ninth inning.

The walk-off was the first against the Travs this season. Arkansas has six walk-off victories.

Stamets finished 2-for-3 with a walk.

With the loss, Arkansas fell to 30-24 on the season and remains 2.5 games behind the Northwest Arkansas Naturals for first place in the Texas League North Division. The Travs and Hooks will conclude the three-game series on Sunday at Whataburger Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
