
Bradish Sines in Bowie Win

CURVE, Pa. - Kyle Bradish tossed 4.2 scoreless innings and struck out seven as the Bowie Baysox topped the Altoona Curve 8-4 on Wednesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
The Baysox (2-0) overcame three errors thanks to nine hits to top the Curve (0-2) for the second night in a row. Bradish exited the game one batter shy of earning his first win of the season, as Tyler Erwin recorded the final out of the fifth.
Curve starter Travis MacGregor was pulled after 2.1 innings in his first appearance since 2018. He gave up four hits and allowed three earned runs with six strikeouts.
Bowie scored one in the second inning and two in the third off MacGregor. The Baysox went on to score one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
Alexis Torres hit a solo home run in the fourth off Curve reliever Cam Alldred. Alldred threw 2.2 innings, allowing two runs on three walks and three hits.
Altoona got onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI infield single by Mason Martin. The miscommunication on the infield fly brought Rodolfo Castro home from second with two outs to make the score 5-1. Martin finished the contest with two hits and one RBI, while Castro hit two doubles.
Bowie scored one in the seventh off Curve reliever Hunter Stratton, who threw two innings and struck out four while allowing the one run.
Altoona scratched two across in the eighth on a pair of errors by Baysox third baseman Alexis Torres. The Curve brought the tying run to the plate in a 6-3 ballgame with runners on first and second when Canaan Smith-Njigba flew out to left to end the inning.
Bowie scored two more in the ninth off Curve reliever Will Gardner. Gardner threw two innings allowing two runs on two hits and four walks.
Altoona tacked a final run across in the ninth off Cameron Bishop before Diogenes Almengo entered to record the final out of the contest. Bishop threw a solid 3.2 innings and earned the win. He punched out three on six hits and no walks.
Robert Neustrom finished the game three-for-four with a double, RBI, and walk for the Baysox. Zach Jarrett also had two hits in the contest.
After setting a new franchise record with 17 strikeouts last night, the Curve struck out 16 batters in tonight's contest.
The Curve and Baysox are back in action tomorrow night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Right-hander Noe Toribio will make his Double-A debut for the Curve against left-hander Kevin Smith for Bowie.
