
Brad Boyes traded to San Jose

The St. John's Maple Leafs announced today that center Brad Boyes has been traded to the San Jose Sharks by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boyes was involved in a three player trade which saw the Toronto Maple Leafs send forwards Alyn McCauley, Boyes and a first round draft choice in 2003 to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for power forward Owen Nolan.
Boyes is the current team leader for the St. John's Maple Leafs and is third amongst AHL rookies with 51 points (23G,28A) in 65 games. Boyes appeared in the 2003 AHL All-Star Classic in Portland, Maine and is featured in the league's top 50 AHL prospects trading cards. Boyes was originally Toronto's 1st choice, 24th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Maple Leafs continue their 10-game homestand tomorrow night when they take on the Syracuse Crunch. Game time is 7:35PM (NT) and will be broadcast LIVE on Rogers Television, Radio NF (930AM) and www.sjmapleleafs.ca.
