Bour Replaces Tezak On Dash Roster

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (APRIL 17, 2010) - The Winston-Salem Dash today announced the addition of catcher Jason Bour (pronounced "BORE") to the team's roster. Bour was signed by the White Sox as a free agent and assigned to the Dash. To make room for Bour, Jeff Tezak was assigned to low-A Kannapolis. Bour will be active for tonight's game against Kinston and his jersey number will be 19.

Bour was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 23rd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He split his 2009 season between Advanced-A Sarasota and AA Carolina. In 70 games last year, he hit .254 with two home runs and 17 RBI.

A native of Centreville, Virginia, Bour attended Hampton-Sydney (VA) College before transferring to George Mason University. In his junior season with the Patriots, Bour hit .366 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI. He was named to the All-CAA First Team at catcher. In his only season at Hampton-Sydney, Bour was the Old Dominion Conference Rookie of the Year, hitting .356 with 33 RBI.

Tezak was promoted to the Dash from Kannapolis on Friday. He was active for Friday night's game but did not play.

The Dash roster remains at the Carolina League limit of 25 players.

Winston-Salem plays the middle contest of its three-game series with the Kinston Indians tonight at BB&T Ballpark. RHP Nevin Griffith (1-0, 1.50) makes his second start for the Dash against Kinston's T.J. House (0-1, 3.60). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
