Boston Returns Walter to Providence

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have returned from loan center Ben Walter. Walter is expected to be with the P-Bruins Friday, January 27 when they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7:05 p.m.

Walter is in his rookie season with the Bruins. In 28 games this season for Providence, Walter has 29 points (7g, 15a) and is +1. He played five games with Boston and had a +2 plus/minus rating with two PIM. The Vancouver, British Columbia native spent the past three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he recorded 90 points (49g, 41a) and 58 PIM in 107 games. Last season he led Hockey East in goals (26), including three hat tricks and tied for ninth in points (39). Walter was the Bruins' fifth pick, 160th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The P-Bruins begin their three game weekend at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, January 27 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05 p.m. Providence hits the road Saturday, January 28 at the MassMutual Center versus the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m., before returning home to the Dunkin Donuts Center on Sunday, January 29 to face the reigning Calder Cup Champion Philadelphia Phantoms at 4:05 p.m. Tickets for all P-Bruins regular season home games are available online at providencebruins.com, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office and at all TicketMaster outlets.
