LOOKING AHEAD: What is brewing into a heated rivalry warms up again on Wednesday as Manitoba visits Rochester at the Blue Cross Arena (7:05 ET)... The Amerks have won three of five meetings from the Moose this season, but still find themselves five points out of the final playoff spot in the North Division... Rochester has not won on home ice in nearly six weeks (0-4-1-0) since beating Grand Rapids on Dec. 16; Manitoba's last road win was a week before that, a victory in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 9 (0-2-2-0)... Lee Goren has recorded nine points in 10 games since joining the Moose on New Year's Eve... Chris Thorburn has notched nine points in his last seven games for the Amerks, including a three-point effort against Manitoba on Jan. 3... Rochester has scored exactly one goal in five of its last six contests.
An East Division clash on Wednesday night pits Hershey against Norfolk at Scope (7:15 ET)... The Bears have cooled off of late, going 7-6-0-3 since Dec. 18, but are coming off a two-game sweep of Atlantic-leading Portland over the weekend... Colin Forbes, who played six games on his recent NHL recall to Washington, is expected to be back in the Hershey lineup Wednesday... Rookie Eric Fehr has recorded seven points in five games against Norfolk on the year... The Admirals are returning home after going an impressive 4-2-0-0 while playing six road games in six cities in eight nights... With Adam Munro and Corey Crawford in the NHL with Chicago, Norfolk's goaltending tandem of Scott Reid and Mike McKenna owns a combined four games of AHL experience... The Admirals have added 2006 AHL All-Star defenseman Danny Richmond, acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade from Carolina last week.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is a league-best 32-6-3-1 on the season, but three of those six regulation losses have been dished out by Wednesday's opponent, Bridgeport (7:05 ET)... The Penguins get a quick chance to avenge Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Sound Tigers... Masi Marjamaki led Bridgeport with two goals and two assists in that game, David Masse added a goal and two assists and Matt Koalska chipped in a goal and an assist... The loss snapped the Penguins' seven-game home winning streak... Even with Saturday's setback, Wilkes-Barre has allowed just 81 goals this season, 28 fewer than any other team in the AHL (Providence, 109).
