BOSTON - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have assigned rookie James Young to the Maine Red Claws.
Young has appeared in nine games for the Red Claws this season and is averaging 23.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals in 33.8 minutes per game, while shooting 51.2 percent from behind the arc. He recorded a season-high 13 points for the Celtics against the Hornets on January 5 on 5-7 (.714) shooting from the field in 18 minutes, and is averaging 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game in 29 contests with the team this season.
