St. Cloud Rox News Release
St. Cloud, MN - Carter Bosch (Georgetown) put together one of the best starts in Rox history, taking his no-hit bid into the ninth inning as St. Cloud (4-6) beat Mankato 10-2. He ended up allowing one hit in his first win of the season.
The scoring began in a big way in the bottom of the third inning as Ben Carew (Kent State) drilled a 2-RBI triple into left field to put the Rox on the board. After a Gus Steiger (South Dakota State) sac-fly that brought in a run, Freddy Achecar (Georgetown) crushes a 2-RBI double down the right field line. The Rox lead 5-0 after three innings.
Steiger would stay hot in his next at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning, hitting an RBI-double to left field that scored Brady Harlan (Oklahoma). Jordan Barth (Augustana) followed with an RBI-single of his own, scoring Steiger. The score was 7-0 St. Cloud after five innings.
The scoring would continue in the bottom of the sixth inning as Tyler Finke (Southeastern Louisiana) and Steiger both recorded RBI singles to extend the lead to 9-0.
The last run for St. Cloud came in the bottom of the eighth inning as Harlan blooped an RBI-single to left field to put the Rox ahead 10-0.
Rhyse Dee (Wake Forest) came in relief of Bosch in the top of the ninth inning after allowing his first hit of the game. Bosch finished his historic start allowing one hit, one run, one walk and six strikeouts.
St. Cloud opens a new series with the Rochester Honkers on Friday evening at the Rock Pile. The first pitch time is slated for 7:05 PM. It's Friday Night Fireworks presented by Kwik Trip.
