Green Bay Rockers News Release
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - Another pod of Northwoods League teams comprised of the Green Bay Booyah, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, La Crosse Loggers, Rockford Rivets, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, and Wisconsin Woodchucks will return to play this summer starting July 1st. The season for this pod will last until August 20th, and will be capped with a two-day, pod playoff series. Working in consultation with state and local officials, the six teams have each developed plans for safe operation in their respective locations, and the teams look forward to welcoming fans and players back for a much-anticipated season of Northwoods League baseball.
"We are extremely excited to welcome fans back safely to Capital Credit Union Park this summer," said Booyah Vice President John Fanta. "It's been a long road to get back to baseball but we're looking forward to giving our fans a chance to kick back and enjoy America's pastime."
With additional teams in the region still working through the possibility of opening later in July, this "pod" could expand before the season's end. Details regarding each team's initial schedule of games will be released soon, and additional details can be found at the Northwoods League's website - www.northwoodsleague.com.
"Patience, creativity, and a focus on safety have paid off for Northwoods League fans and players" said Northwoods League President and Commissioner Gary Hoover.ÃÂ "This next phase represents tremendous effort by our Affiliates to safely bring baseball back into their communities, and to provide their fans with a timeless way to spend quality time.
Once the new schedule is released by the League, the Booyah will work to reach out and place all season ticket package holders in seating locations within the newly created, socially-distanced stadium map of Capital Credit Union Park. When all ticket holders are placed fans that sign up for the Priority List on the Booyah website will have a 48 hour window to purchase any single game tickets before the general public. Capital Credit Union Park will open up at a limited capacity of 25% to start the season.
