Booras Selected as Easton Player of the Month for December

Wichita, KS (January 3rd) - The Central Hockey League announced today that Thunder forward Jon Booras has been named as the Easton CHL Player of the Month for December. This is the first league honor earned by Booras this season and the third league award picked up by a Thunder player this week.
The Billings, Montana native has points in nine of the team's 11 games and is riding a seven-game point streak. During December, he racked up 18 points (7g, 11a) including two three-point games and a four-assist night in Tulsa on December 27th. With a point tonight, he would tie a team-high eight-game point-streak that was reached earlier this season by Jesse Dudas and Andrew Martens.
Booras recently played in his 500th game as a professional on December 20th in Arizona and recorded his 500th point against the St. Charles Chill on December 28th with his second-period goal that helped Wichita come from behind to win by the final of 3-2. He is one goal shy of 200 for his career.
The veteran forward collected five multi-point outings during the month that helped the Thunder finish December 7-4-0. He had three points (1g, 2a) in a win over Missouri on December 5th, two goals and an assist in a victory on December 21st at Arizona and a season-high four-point night in an 8-2 rout of Tulsa on December 27th.
Booras will receive a special gift courtesy of Easton and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment. Earlier in the week, Matt Robinson was named as the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending on December 29th and grabbed the Oakley CHL Number One Star of the Month for December yesterday.
