
Cutthroats Win First Colorado Tour Game

Aspen - The Denver Cutthroats hit the ice in Aspen, Colorado on Friday, January 3 to host the Tulsa Oilers for the first night of the weekend series of home games at Lewis Ice Arena for the Colorado Tour. The Denver Cutthroats started the inaugural tour with a 4-2 victory over the Tulsa Oilers.
Oilers Michel Beausoleil (Adam Pleskach, Todd Robinson) scored the first goal of the night with a shot to the back of the Cutthroats net. On the power play, Denver's T.J. Fox (Aaron MacKenzie, Daniel Moriarty) fired a shot at the open net to tie the score 1-1.
Vincent Arseneau (T.J. Fox, Nick Schneider) gave the Cutthroats the lead on the power play with a goal early in the second period. On Friday, Arseneau returned to the Denver Cutthroats after his call up to the American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters in December. Teammate Troy Schwab (Steve Kaunisto) scored the Cutthroats third goal of the night on the power play to close the opening 40 minutes of play 3-1 Denver.
The Tulsa Oilers Scott Macaulay (Kyle Bochek, Ryan Menei) put up a fight late in the third period to cut the deficit to one. For his second goal of the night, Vincent Arseneau sealed the Cutthroats lead with an empty net goal. The Denver Cutthroats defeated the Tulsa Oilers 4-2 during the team's first game of the Colorado Tour.
The Denver Cutthroats and Tulsa Oilers will face off again on Saturday, January 4 at Lewis Ice Arena in Aspen, Colorado. The Cutthroats Colorado Tour will continue on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail, Colorado against the Arizona Sundogs.
