Americans Battle Top-Seeded Rapid City Tonight at the AEC
January 3, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans battle the team with the best record in the Central Hockey League tonight, the Rapid City Rush, at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center.
Rapid City picked up back to back road wins over the Americans about a month ago in Allen. The Rush head into tonight's contest with the league's best road record at 12-0-0.
"They are a tough team to play against," said Allen Americans forward Johnathan Lessard, during the Americans Radio Show yesterday at Freebirds in the Village at Allen. "They are a hard working team with a lot of skill."
The Americans have won three straight games and are currently third overall in the CHL Standings, one point ahead of red hot Quad City. If the playoffs were to open today, the Americans would face Denver in the first round, in a 3 vs. 6 matchup, with 37 games remaining including tonight's game against Rapid City.
Jamie Schaafsma has been on a scoring streak of late, leading the Americans in points over the last five games with six points, 4 goals and two assists.
Don't forget about Autograph Friday following tonight's game with the Rush. Three players will be on the concourse following the game to sign autographs and greet fans, win or lose.
Tickets for tonight and tomorrow night's games are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call (972) 912-1000.
