Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans handed the top-seeded Rapid City Rush their first road loss of the season tonight in a 2-1 win at Allen Event Center.

The Americans jumped on the board first in the opening period, when Tyler Ludwig blasted his 8th of the season home on the power play at the 14:28 mark on a feed from Jamie Schaafsma, Alex Lavoie had the second assist as Ludwig scored for the third straight game. The Rush would tie the game just under three minutes later, when Brett Kostolansky would tip one in the net for his 2nd of the season to make it 1-1. Rapid City outshot Allen 13-10 in the opening frame.

The power play was big again for Allen in the second, when Daniel Tetrault fired one from the right point past Tim Boron for his third of the season, to give Allen their one goal lead back. Trevor Ludwig and Jamie Schaafsma provided the helpers for Allen.

No scoring in the third period, as the Americans would hold on for a one goal victory, killing off a late 5-on-3 Rapid City power play, and handing the Rush their first road loss of the season.

The Americans host Rapid City again tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call (972) 912-1000.
