Wichita's Jon Booras Named Easton/CHL Player of the Month

GLENDALE, AZ (January 3, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita's Jon Booras has been named the Easton Central Hockey League Player of the Month for December/2013. Booras will receive a special gift courtesy of Easton and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

The Billings, Montana native recorded points in nine of the 11 games he played with five multiple-point efforts. In all, Booras finished with seven goals and 11 assists and was a +4 in a month that that turned around the season of the Thunder (finished with a 7-4-0 mark in December).

CHL Scoring Leaders

Booras' big games came on Dec. 5 when he collected three points (1-2=3) in a win over Missouri, on Dec. 21 when he had two goals and an assist in a win in Arizona and then on Dec. 27 when he had four helpers in a win over Tulsa.

The veteran signed with the Thunder in the off-season and currently leads his team in scoring with 37 points (12-25=37), tied for eighth in the league in scoring.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for December include Allen's Alex Lavoie, Brampton's Andrew Fournier, Denver's Garett Bembridge and Troy Schwab, Missouri's Mike Ramsay and Sebastien Thinel, Quad City's Gergo Nagy, Rapid City's Konrad Reeder, Sean Erickson and Jesse Schultz, Tulsa's Ben Gordon and Kyle Bochek and Wichita's Matt Robinson and Jesse Dudas.
