Denver Cutthroats Add Two More to 2014-15 Roster

July 30, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Denver Cutthroats News Release

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats announced today that forward Kyle O'Kane will join the 2014-15 roster with returning forward Dan Barczuk.

O'Kane joined the Cutthroats after spending the 2013-14 season with the Central Hockey League's former St. Charles Chill. In 62 games, he netted 22 goals with 14 assists and 55 penalty minutes. "We look forward to having Kyle join the Cutthroats for the 2014-15 season," said Denver Cutthroats Head Coach Brad Smyth. "He had a breakout year with the St. Charles Chill and we feel he can continue to grow into a strong offensive player for us."

The St. Louis, Missouri native began his career in the CHL with the Tulsa Oilers in the 2012-13 season. He played 29 games with the Oilers and compiled four points with two goals and two assists. "I am thrilled to be a part of the Denver Cutthroats," said O'Kane. "It's a winning team run by two guys who have played in the NHL and I look forward to being a part of an organization striving for a championship. I can't wait to get to Denver and start things up."

Dan Barczuk returned to the Cutthroats following his 61 games with the team during the previous season. "Dan was a nice addition to our team last season," said Smyth. "He brings energy, tenacity and a strong desire to play the game, which is part of what we like to see in all of the players who wear the Fish jersey." The Livonia, Michigan native tallied 14 goals, 15 assists and 74 penalty minutes in 45 regular-season games with Denver. In the playoffs, he recorded three goals, one assist and 30 penalty minutes in 16 games.

"I am excited to be back in Denver and start a new season," said Barczuk. "We have a good group of guys coming back and our sights are set on the championship."

The Denver Cutthroats will be back in action at the Denver Coliseum in the fall of 2014. Season tickets and mini-plans are available at DenverCutthroats.com or by calling 303.295.3474.
