(Schaumburg, IL)- For the second consecutive night, the Joliet Slammers got shut-out, this time 2-0, by the Schaumburg Boomers, dropping the series. At the completion of the contest, Joliet has not scored a run since Tuesday evening against Traverse City.

Schaumburg opened the game up in the bottom of the second. First baseman Steve McQuail led the inning off with a solo home run to make it 1-0. The Boomers notched their insurance run in the home half of the third when Jeremy Milons tripled and came home on a sacrifice fly by Karexon Sanchez.

For the second straight evening, Slammers pitching threw a gem but the bats couldn't provide run support. Tommy Mendoza was stuck with a loss despite throwing seven innings on just two runs. Mike Barsotti threw a perfect eighth inning in relief. Alex Rivers threw seven innings of shutout ball for Schaumburg for the win.

The Slammers wrap up their road trip in Schaumburg Friday. Fans can listen to the game on AM 1340 WJOL with Aaron Morse and Greg Talbott calling the action.
