Ryan Eigsti Has Contracted Purchased by Blue Jays

Marion, IL - The Southern Illinois Miners announce catcher Ryan Eigsti had his contract selected by the Toronto Blue Jays Organization. He reported to the Triple-A Las Vegas 51's. He was with the Miners for the three game series in Normal at The Corn Crib.
"We are very happy for Ryan," said Miners Manager Mike Pinto. "This is another great opportunity for him to get back to Triple-A and continue his dream of reaching the big leagues. He was a great addition in the short term for us and he would have helped us greatly down the stretch but we will never hold our players back from an opportunity."
During Eigsti's play with the Southern Illinois Miners, he recorded three hits against the Normal CornBelters, with one being a home run. Eigsti drove in one run and walked four times.
Eigsti is one of 20 Miners players to move on to affiliated minor league baseball. He is the third Miners player to do so this season joining Matt Fields and Max Peterson.
