GREENVILLE, SC - Mike Rozier and Randy Newsome combined on a three-hitter to lead Greenville to a 10-1 homestand opening victory over the Rome Braves Friday night. The Bombers, now winners of four games in their last five, have also won 12 of 14 at Municipal Stadium.

In his final start of the season, Rozier (6-5) earned his first win since July 10th, giving up just one run over five innings on three hits. The Red Sox first round selection in last June's draft also turned in his longest outing in terms of innings worked since returning from a one-month stint on the disabled list.

Newsome finished with four hitless, scoreless innings to gain his first save of the season.

Offensively, Greenville beat Rome's James Parr (13-4), who entered the night leading the South Atlantic League in victories. Austin Easley gave the Bombers the initial lead in the second inning with a solo home run to dead center field, his sixth of the year.

After Rome tied it with a run in the third on a J.C. Holt RBI single, the Bombers pulled away with three runs in the fourth inning, thanks in part to three Braves throwing errors. Matt Ciaramella's sacrifice fly and Jeff Corsaletti's RBI single keyed the rally.

Greenville finished with ten hits, led by catcher John Otness going 3-for-4 with a homer, double and two RBI. Jeff Natale chipped in with a triple and three runs batted in.

The clubs meet in game two of the four-game series on Saturday at 7:05pm. Lefthander Roger Lincoln (3-2) will pitch for Greenville against Rome righthander Stephen Russell (0-1).
