Greenville Drive News Release
The Greenville Bombers announced on Friday that general manager Rich Mozingo will step down at the conclusion of the 2005 season.
The 2005 season was Mozingo's 14th season in professional baseball and his third with the Bomber organization. His was previously General Manager of the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League. While in Greenville, the 38-year old general manager oversaw the organization's successful transition into a new market on less than 60 days notice. He has been actively involved in planning for the team's new West End ballpark scheduled to open in 2006 and will continue to consult on the project.
"The response for the ball club in Greenville has been outstanding" said Rich Mozingo. "I would especially like to thank our sponsors, season ticket holders and fans for their support of Bombers baseball here in the upstate."
Co-owner Craig Brown will assume the role of president and acting general manager for the organization until a replacement for Mozingo is named. Brown noted, "The owners and front office are grateful for the many contributions Rich has made to our organization as we move forward to bring professional baseball and family entertainment to downtown Greenville and the surrounding communities."
