Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH- Members of the Dayton Bombers professional "AA" hockey team helped to distribute more than 500 stuffed animals at the Children's Medical Center of Dayton in December.

Justin Bowers, Britt Dougherty, Jim Henkemeyer, Nino Musitelli, Nathan Schwartzbauer and Tom Zanoski visited young patients at the hospital for two hours, passing out teddy bears and other stuffed animals that were collected at the Bombers' annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on December 6.

More than 500 additional stuffed animals will be donated by the team to local police and fire departments throughout the Miami Valley. Officers and firefighters keep the bears in their vehicles for house calls and interactions with young children.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday the Bombers, Nutter Center and Troy's Hobart Arena collected 1,453 pounds of food for The Foodbank, Inc., which services Miami Valley food pantries. This is more than double the amount collected at last year's food drive.

The Bombers would like to thank all of the generous fans who contributed to these two great holiday efforts.
