Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks (27-7) made history against the Battle Creek Bombers (14-20) by recording their 51st win overall which broke a Northwoods League record for most wins in a season. Waterloo tied the record Thursday and broke on Friday it with a 6-2 win.

Waterloo jumped out to an early 3-0 lead off Battle Creek starter Ryan Lavoie (L 2-3). All three runs came in the fourth inning. Lavoie worked the first three innings without allowing a hit. All told, Ryan pitched five innings and struck out five. Battle Creek was able to get on the board in the top of the seventh on an RBI ground out by Alex Rapanos making the score 3-1.

The Bucks answered in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of runs off Ben Dartnell. Battle Creek pushed a run across in the eighth inning thanks to a Drew Carlile RBI single but that was the last time the Bombers would score. Dustin Carlson started for Waterloo and was relieved by TJ Renda (W 5-0). Battle Creek now heads to Wisconsin Rapids for the final two games of the season.
