Bombers acquire Brazzell

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers welcomed one wide receiver and bid another adieu today.

The CFL club acquired WR Chris Brazzell in a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats that saw WR Kamau Peterson sent to the Tabbies.

Brazzell (6-2, 199, Angelo State '97 DOB: May 22, 1976 in Fort Worth, Texas) is in his fifth CFL season. He had 22 catches for 252 yards and 2 TDs in six games with the Tiger-Cats this season.

Brazzell was a standout with the B.C. Lions prior to joining the Ti-Cats as a free agent this past February. In 2004 he had 49 receptions for 906 yards and eight TDs in 16 games with the Lions. He hauled in 68 receptions for 1,111 yards and six TDs in his first year with B.C. in 2003.

The Fort Worth native broke into the CFL with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2001, playing in one game for the Esks that season. He started 11 games in 2002 and totaled 30 catches for 546 yards and three TDs.

Brazzell finished his collegiate career at Angelo State with 1,565 yards receiving, which ranked ninth on the school's all-time receiving list despite the fact he played only two years with the Rams.
