Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have traded import receiver Chris Brazzell to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in exchange for non-import receiver Kamau Peterson.
Peterson has 15 receptions for 218 yards in seven games for the Blue Bombers this season. In 68 career regular season CFL games, the 6-1, 210-pound native of Los Angeles, California has recorded 192 receptions for 2605 yards and 12 touchdowns.
"This is a league where you need a strong Canadian contingent. We believe we are getting a guy with a lot of potential that can be an impact player for us. Peterson has a lot of speed and can be a big play receiver," said Ticats head coach Greg Marshall.
Brazzell signed with the Ticats as a free agent on February 21st, 2005 and recorded 22 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season.
"Unfortunately we have to give up a very good football player in Chris Brazzell," Marshall continued. "We had high expectations for Chris this year and believe he will have a great opportunity to catch a lot of balls in Winnipeg. However, to get something of value we had to give up something in return."
