Blues Reassign Anthony Peluso To Bloomington

PEORIA, Ill. (January 16, 2009) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Anthony Peluso from Peoria to the Bloomington PrairieThunder of the International Hockey League (IHL).

Peluso, 20, has played in 17 games this season with Peoria and registered one goal and 45 penalty minutes. During D.J. King's first conditioning assignment in October, Peluso spent five games with the Alaska Aces, Peoria's ECHL affiliate. He had 15 penalty minutes and one assist for the Aces.

Last season, the 6-4, 234-pound winger started the season with Sault Ste. Marie but was traded in January to Brampton of the Ontario Hockey League. In a combined 63 games, Peluso collected 20 goals, 17 assists and 125 penalty minutes. He also posted 15 points (8g, 7a) and 29 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games for Brampton.

The North York, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 160th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
