OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 16, 2010) - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned forward Kaspars Daugavins to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Daugavins was recalled for the first time in his career on Jan. 13 and made his NHL debut (recording 8:26 time-on-ice and two shots on goal) in the Senators' 2-0 win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

The 21-year-old has scored 11 goals, added 10 assists and has five multi-point games in 37 games with the B-Sens this season and was named to Team Latvia in late December for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

In four seasons split between Binghamton and Ontario Hockey League's St. Michael's Majors, Daugavins has 17 career AHL goals, 12 assists and 24 penalty minutes over 73 professional games. The 6-0, 205-pound native of Riga, Latvia, was Ottawa's second third-round selection (91st overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The B-Sens (fifth East Division, 17-17-3-1, 38 points) next see action this evening when they host Springfield at 7:05 p.m.
