LAKEWOOD, N.J. - With the 2008 season underway, the BlueClaws have made a number of capital improvements throughout FirstEnergy Park.
"We have improved FirstEnergy Park every season since it opened in 2001," BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown said. "We want to be sure that our fans have the best experience possible when they visit our ballpark. We think we have one of the best ballparks in Minor League Baseball and every year it continues to get better."
The most visible of the changes took place on the intersection of New Hampshire Ave. and Cedar Bridge Ave. where the BlueClaws installed a state-of-the-art marquee. The new Daktronics marquee is full color and capable of playing video. The original marquee had stood on that corner since the FirstEnergy Park opened.
In addition, the BlueClaws have upgraded the Coors Light WRAT Trap in centerfield. The popular hangout has brand new barstools, picnic tables and lighting for the 2008 season, as well as a big screen television with the full Major League Baseball package.
The BlueClaws have also added new sound and video production equipment, meaning that the experience inside the ballpark will be better than ever. All the sound effects and videos fans have loved in the past will be back in 2008, along with a brand new set of sounds and effects.
In addition, Lakewood Township has installed an improved heating and air conditioning system for the suite level and the Upstairs Club. There will also now be free wireless internet available for the entire club level, courtesy of Reynwood Communications.
The team has also added a pair of vehicles for the 2008 season. The brand-new "Buster Mobile" comes from the Asbury Park Press and will be accompanying the BlueClaws mascot when he travels through the community. The team has also added a new "Pinchy's Pickup" thanks to Toyota World of Lakewood.
Don't miss your chance to enjoy all the newest amenities at FirstEnergy Park. Seats are still available for every BlueClaws home games online at BlueClaws.com, over the phone at (732) 901-7000, or at the FirstEnergy Park ticket office.
