DES MOINES, Iowa - The Oklahoma City Blue fell to the Iowa Energy, 104-103, on Saturday despite coming back from a seven point deficit in the final minute.
Josh Huestis was one of three Blue players to score over 20 points, posting a career-high 24 points alongside six rebounds. Semaj Christon scored 23 points with three assists and two boards and Marquis Teague tallied 21 points, five assists, three steals and three blocks.
Talib Zanna picked up his 16th double-double of the season with 16 points and 17 rebounds while Xavier Alexander collected 10 points, 14 boards and five assists. Richard Solomon pulled down 13 rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
After being held to 12 points in the first quarter, Oklahoma City shot 12-of-24 in the second frame to outscore Iowa 29-21 and head to halftime down 43-41. The Blue went on a 14-4 run midway through the third to take a 63-51 lead, it's largest of the night. Iowa responded with a 12-2 run to maintain a two-point advantage after three quarters.
The Blue took a brief two-point lead halfway through the fourth, but the Energy re-took the lead and entered the final minute up 100-93. The Blue cut its deficit to two with a three-pointer from Teague followed by a fast-break layup by Zanna after a defensive stop. Iowa went 4-for-4 from the foul line over the next two possessions to put away the Blue before Teague closed the game on a corner three as the clock expired.
Teague and Huestis combined for 23 points in the fourth quarter on 7-of-8 shooting from three-point range.
Oklahoma City (17-12) outrebounded Iowa 56-43 and pulled down a season-high 22 offensive rebounds.
Iowa (15-12) was led by Chris Allen with 24 points and Russ Smith with 22 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
