Austin Spurs News Release
(CEDAR PARK, TEXAS - JAN. 31, 2015) - For the second straight night, Bryce Cotton posted a game-high 38 points and San Antonio assignee Kyle Anderson achieved his 6th double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) as the Austin Spurs (19-9) outlast the Idaho Stampede (4-25) in a 107-102 contest Saturday afternoon on the SWBC Court inside the Cedar Park Center.
Cotton hit 7 for 8 three-point attempts and shot 100% from the free throw line. Also contributing for Austin were Orlando Johnson (17 points), Keith Wright (13 points, 8 rebounds), and Erik Murphy (12 points, 9 rebounds). As a team, Austin's consistent free throw shooting (81.1%) compared to Idaho's clip from the line (52.4%) proved crucial in the game's outcome.
Jerrelle Benimon's near triple-double (27 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds) led the Stampede's attack. Idaho's Jack Cooley nabbed a double-double (14 points, 19 rebounds) and Jermaine Taylor added 21 points.
Coming up, the Austin Spurs will host the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:30pm. The Idaho Stampede will head to Delaware to face the 87ers on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5:00pm.
